God's Tower Afterfall

is a rougelite with a big focus on party based battlesystem you will find in classic JRPGs like. It is still in development and I'll uses this to motivate myself to finish the game. My goal is to use this as a devlog.

Game is about 50% done and I'll update and the description better whenever I feel like it.

Here is an old gif from the game: Some Sprites are placeholders and will be changed... alot of other things will be changed too...

The playable game is the first version. Everything might change, there are placeholder, there are bugs, there are balance issuse! Bring your own music!;

Some Key Aspects:

  • Create a Party with 3 classes and fight 20 handcrafted enemy troops in the style of turn based JRPG
  • Choose from 20 unique classes
  • Draft the abilites and skills through the run to always get a slightly different build
  • Sell the loot you earned in your Guild Shop between runs to unlock new classes
  • Unique level up system that makes each upgrade a small strategic puzzle
  • Dynamic turn based battle system that forces you to make clever decission to manipulate the fight in your favor and win

Very cool game! I was a little confused at first. But I think it's a good thing that this is a rougelite, and I could learn more after losing a few times.

Also, when I wasn't playing full screen, the interface was really small. Looking foward for updates!

I'm glad you liked it :) big update is on its way. An UI rework is on my To-Do List !

Took a while to beat it. The mana burn of the paladin, the hit that does double damage by the knight and the mages high damage single target ice attack was the center.  Got the knight to have confusion on his shield attack and a normal one too that helped as CC against bosses.

Thanks for the post :) I'm happy you had fun and a challenge. Please feel free to give feedback, on what I can improve on to make the game more fun!

not a fan of he interrupt mechanic if I had to be perfectly honest I didn't use it at all, the variation of abilities and mechanics is impressive and the shop level progression is fun and unique :X
